I did not think I'd have to explain this to anyone, but apparently you need it. In the real world sensors fail. This is especially true if they are hanging on buoys in the ocean. When you see one sensor reporting something abnormal but the other sensors around it report something else, you don't presume that suddenly there is one spot in middle of the sea with boiling water and all around it is ice. You assume that sensor has failed and you interpolate from the neighboring sensors.

Here's the thing, global warming has been in the news for almost 40 years. Let's say there is some conspiracy to report the data as increasing every year while there is nothing wrong. Over a period of 40 years the accumulated lies would go through the roof and the disparity with the real world would be so high that the gig would be up and it would become glaringly obvious.

Except that hasn't happened and from receding polar caps to Greenland to changes in insects and amphibian life - everything is pointing towards climate change. So how come the energy industry has never been able to pay off enough people to come out of all these research areas and reveal the hoax? To the contrary we keep seeing receding ice caps. How come the Russians are not calling off the NASA's lies and showing the world the truth?

At this point your camp is sounding sillier than those who deny moon landing ever happened.
