Buck, I think the INTC cap spending number may have an impact on AMAT before AMAT's earnings announcement. We all know that commodity chips are in the toilet....so the semi caps are depending on other chip areas to make up for the commodity chips. If INTC comes in with flat or lower cap spending numbers than last year....then I would expect a fall in AMAT stock much sooner than AMAT's earnings.

How is INTC's business??? will they need $4.7billion worth of cap spending this year or do they have sufficient capacity and just require upgrades here and there during the year to keep up with technology.....we know that they have already pushed out 2 fabs out of 1998.
