Paul, I already have 128MB in the thing (not SDRAM, though, just EDO). I think I'll be much better off with the dual P200s than with a K6-233, but this is pretty-much a RealTick III-specific issue.
The durn thing gets it's big jaws around the CPU and *will not let go*. When it gets in it's "backlogged" mode, you really cannot do anything else on the machine.
Fortunately, RT3 does almost all of it's work in a single thread, so a dual CPU should do the trick - the second CPU will then be available for other stuff. (Yes, I am running NT 4.0, which will be able to use both CPUs).
As far as INTC price action - it looks good technically, and held 70. I do think that if INTC falls further from here, the entire market is in trouble, so if you have other long holdings, you'd best start rooting for INTC. ;) |
