It was unclear whether all that wind electricity made its way onto the grid for consumption, however. A spokesperson for National Grid said it was not always possible to move energy south due to transmission capacity limitations

So it didn't produce 100%+ percent of Scotland's electricity needs.

Also neither the wind, nor electricity demand is steady. Produce a ton of kw/h when there not needed and you can produce more kw/h then is needed for the day but still not have nearly enough to satisfy demand.
