The author doesn't seem to grasp what xPoint is, when he talks about Intel winning in SSD's. xPoint has performance benefits, but is several multiples the cost of NAND. xPoint does not take over the SSD market, that remains NAND for the forseeable future. xPoint would be for specific applications as a high performance lower cost alternative to DRAM.
