It isn't my favorite, Taro. It is a useful alternative to DDT. Any insecticide, like any antibiotic. can be overused to the point where resistance is developed. Any rational person knows that. The point is not to exclusively rely on one and don't overuse it.

"The researchers specifically evaluated risk of autism in relation to exposure to pyrethroids, yes, the same pesticide now being used to carpet bomb Zika-carrying mosquitos. The study shows that exposure of mothers to pyrethroids during the third trimester of pregnancy was associated with an 87% increased risk of autism for their child."

Great, right? But no problem wth the greens here :)

"But, in 1962, Rachel Carson published Silent Spring, the book that launched the environmental movement. In that book, Carson showed how DDT was imperilling wildlife, particularly predators at the top of the food chain that accumulated the chemical in their fat and in their thinning egg shells.
Within a decade, the developed countries had banned DDT, as did some developing countries, to the detriment of their health. In Sri Lanka, cases of malaria soon rose to 500,000. Worldwide, malaria has returned with a vengeance, accounting annually for 300 million cases and, sadly, one million deaths, mainly of children."

Millions of kids died from Malaria as a result as a result of the green movement kick-started by that Rachel Carson 95% pure fiction book. Now as usual, as long as this happens in the 3rd world, the leftists couldn't care less, right?

Just like the current super fad, 'BLM', also known by it's more descriptive name "The Klan with a Tan", where blacks killings blacks in masses doesn't seem to disturb any of the true believers.

The main problem with DDT, however: No valid patents, dirt cheap to produce! No patents means no royalties to collect and cheap means uninteresting revenues.
So who would expect, that you and all your buddies on the left side would miss this golden opportunity to push hard for this proven and 'non-capitalistic' lower cost alternative?

But, "tempura mutantur et nos in illis" with the US dems now standing firm behind Hillary Clinton and thus siding up with all the banks, the financial community and all the dirt rich Americans on same side!

Shame on you all!

But back to the main subject: When Zika slips out of control - and odds stand high that this will happen - then everything known to kill the aedes egypti will be thrown at it.

DDT, known to be de facto harmless to man and children (!) will be one of the first not so secret weapons to be used.
