jorge, that is what I've been posting for 4 months now.
cpq's 1q is normally a little slower and the only issue here is 4q97 is so blow out that 1q98 cannot keep up.
Cpq will try to use reserves to factor this.
plan on needing incenticves to sell more in 1q98. but what they do is reserve off revenue and profit to plan for this.
The reserve off and it lowers the rev. and profit in 4q. then when they use that reserve bucket in 1q98 it raises that qtr at the expense of 4q97.
Historically cpq as fought this since 1983. I think you'll see they manages it pretty well so 1 qtrs. have been more than 4qtrs lately.
BUT, I DO NOT SEE ANY WAY FOR THE STREET TO SEE THIS IN THE RIGHT LIGHT.
