Now some grumpy guys would say this is a good example of the childishness of the "debate" from the left. I however insist that this is a ray of hope.

Finally we have a prestigious democrat daring to break with the mainstream of his party by, at least by implication, criticizing the old Soviet Union instead of openly admiring it.
