Robbery vs. destruction. All debts get paid - either by the debtor, or the lender.

After the last two wars, another one with boots on the ground will be a tough sell, fortunately. Inflation is why I have most everything in an index fund. That fund, commodities, or RE are the best hedges I know to ride out inflation. SS will inflate yearly with the inflation.
