The paymaster. It's outside Timmins. It has had a tragic fire too where many
died. It's the mine with jinx. About 23 men died when the cage rope failed.
The dogs were meant to release and dig into the wood. Because of corrosion
they failed to snap into action until the cage had reached a good speed. Then
they dug in and stopped the cage. At this point the 1000 feet or so of rope
landed on the cage and the dogs swung right throught the wood and around the
other side. (the rope may have hit the spring)

Dome did a feasibility on the Paymaster last year and concluded it would
not make money despite new ore discovered of good grade.

PS, If you are ever in a cage and the rope breaks, its stops VERY fast, so keep
your knees bent. Cages are made of Titanium metal and will not rust (they
are worth a bit). The dog system should be made of monel but its just steel, well
greased these days.
