Yousef, Re -- AMD will ship their .25um CPU's later in '98 and will be 2 speed bins behind Intel in performance. Nope, they will be about 3 speed bins behind and a max of 333Mhz when they start shipping in vol. This is because in addition to process limiitations, there are, I suspect design limitations on the K6. Re -- AMD is competing with Intel in the "lower margin" <$1000 desktops ... Unfortunately this will come to an end in 98 too, because, Intel is redesigning the sub-1000, sub-500 pc's and most likely will be around slot 1. Inclusion of AMD in these pc designs won't be a factor, to the contrary. At best AMD will be selling a niche product (like cyrix mediagx), and nearly out the X86 CPU business by the end of 98.
