NRN's Sequoi Prospect: How Big Could It Be?

On August 8th, NRN reported VTEM results for the Sequoi prospect:

northern-shield.com

Therein, images were provided indicating approximate size and thickness for each VTEM anomaly of interest. With that data in hand, following are calculations to estimate discovery potential for $NRN's Sequoi block by coming up with a volume and tonnage for VTEM anomalies SQ8, SQ6, SQ5 and SQ1. Using the scale on each image from NRN's Aug 8th presentation, assumptions are the VTEM anomalies are near massive sulphide with a density of 4 and a grade of 1% Ni and 2% Cu.

SQ8: approx dimensions 1000m x 500m x 50m thick x4T/m3=100 million tonnes, containing 1.0 mt Ni and 2.0 mt Cu

SQ6: approx dimensions 2000m x 400m x 50m thick x4T/m3=160 million tonnes, containing 1.6 mt Ni and 3.2 mt Cu

SQ5; approx dimensions 1500m x 400m x 50m thick x4T/m3=120 million tonnes containing 1.2 mt Ni and 2.4 mt Cu

SQ1: approx dimensions 1500m x 250m x 100m thick x4T/m3=150 million tonnes containing 1.5 mt Ni and 3.0 mt Cu.

Total for all 4 zones = 5.3 mt Ni and 10.6 mt Cu. Assuming an average grade of 1 gm/t PGE's, that would add about 17 million ounces of PGE's.

Voiseys Bay Resource = about 1 mt Ni and 2 mt Cu. $NRN's Huckleberry, Se2 and Idefix projects aside, the discovery potential at Sequoi alone is an ore field with a combined in ground resource up to roughly 5 times the size of Voiseys Bay, which sold for about $4.5 billion. Now lets all hope the VTEM anomalies are not all barren pyrrhotite.

Disclosure: I have taken a position and have no affiliation with $NRN. The commentary is entirely my opinion based on my research. Stocks like NRN are speculative and risky.
