Take a gander at YHOO's 10-Q and note this:

That's all I wanted to know. I assumed (apparently correctly) that somebody had already read the filing, and could just tell me.

Don't know much about Yahoo, but these charges look a lot like SGI's charges for restructuring this quarter ...

I don't pretend to understand the beancounter methods of being profitable and losing money at the same time. All I asked is if Sal, whose grasp of these things I respect, could try and explain it to me.

If you expect SGI to be "profitable" this quarter (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=3055091) considering the impending writeoff, I don't even want to try to understand!

I never said we would be, and I never said we wouldn't be. All I was looking for was an outsiders take on why we would, or why we wouldn't. Even if I knew how SGI's Q would turn out, it would be unethical and probably illegal to even imply performance.

BTW : You could come off a little more abrasive, but you'd really have to work at it.
