Actually, 14 points that were published in a novel, written by an American businessman who had spent (by his own account) a full 200 hours studying fascist regimes. A Novel which presumed America as a fascist state.

When you look at the true characteristics of fascism, there are some things that are important. And others that are characteristic, but don't matter. I'm going to give you the substantive points. My list. You can argue with if you'd like.

- Corruption and Cronyism.

- Fraudulent Election Processes.

- A press that for whatever reason, can't be objective about the regime and/or suppression of free speech by any means.

- The use of propaganda and Newspeak to shut down opposition.

- State control of every aspect of national life (Mussolini himself said it)

- Nationalism as a tool only. Because individuals in society must be subordinated to the state. If it is possible to get individuals to surrender their rights willingly, there you go.

Now, you can try to figure which political parties identify more clearly from your point of view. But it is important to separate the important precepts from the tools and techniques.
