No, we are fine. That horrible thing happened just 25 miles to the SouthEast of our place. Up in those Abruzzi mountains, where it happens again and again. Poor people, in particular the old stone buildings falling apart. While the construction rules have been quite strict for many years, until the Aquila quake 7 years ago, a lot of cheating was going on with less than prescribed by law iron was added to the walls. After the Aquila quake the Italians went crazy and increased the amount of iron required by law in new constructions by yet another 40%, I know because I had to pay for it.

Our area just to the East of the Trasimeno Lake is not earth quake endangered, but that said, we did still add a quake insurance to our house 7 years ago.
