You have to respect LBJ.. He was pretty damn rough on the edges but he was probably the most effective legislator that the U.S. has ever seen. A lot of Black people seem to credit JFK for things that made their lives better, but it was LBJ that got the Civil Rights Act passed and the Voting Rights Act passed. He's the ONLY guy that could have done that at that time..
