You don't need a conspiracy. It's in plain sight. The reason a company with a product so old its patent is expired can maintain monopoly pricing is because of government regulations.
You're missing the point. The drug in EpiPen (epinephrine) is old, but the injection device is not. To get FDA approval for a generic version of EpiPen, the generic product must exactly replicate the EpiPen injection device.
