FDA overreach is costing us dearly in many ways. Obviously there's a massive increase in the cost of all health care. Companies supplying the industry have to maintain huge departments of high paid people to deal with the FDA. They don't make anything, they don't invent anything, they don't sell anything. They just keep the bureaucrats from closing down the company.

But we also pay through the loss of access to innovative devices. Any innovation is taking place overseas because American companies can't do development with any hope of making a profit in the current regulatory environment.

It's costing jobs, it's directly reducing GDP growth.

We are not getting good value for the gigantic cost of today's FDA.
