If Trump loses, his voters will not realize that they were mistaken to believe in him and support him in defiance of their party’s intellectual class. They will blame the NeverTrumpsters for the election results and boot them out of the party altogether.

The elites of the party think the rank and file of the GOP - who revolted against them - will not blame them for Trump's defeat when they side with Hillary Clinton against Trump. They think we'll get a good whipping at the post and go back to listening to our betters.

What conceit and hubris.
