Happy Happy... Joy Joy! As Ren and Stimpy would say!! Well, it will be a pretty dull day on the internet today, with the exception of Sports scores on the bowl games. My brother and his wife will be viewing the Rose parade in person this year so I will be thinking of them as we watch it here on Armed Forces TV.

Glad to hear that you and your tooth are getting well. These things are not to be taken lightly. Years ago, a friend of mine let a wisdom tooth extraction infection go too long and wound up having to have a new heart valve put in due to entocarditis. Antibiotics should be standard for any major type of dental work.

Sparky is doing just fine and has recovered from the bites and and "Asian flu" drop in the market! He is really a travelin' dog... just loves to go for rides and see new places. I just hope we can keep him in good health as he is now 10 years old. But, little dogs like Lhasa Apsos and such are known to live much longer than larger breeds.

I just put some of our profits to good use and put in an order for a new Subaru Outback station wagon. We have a '91 Subaru Legacy wagon now, but it doesn't have US. specs so would not be able to import it when we return to the States next year. We are excited about getting the new car and will look forward to using it to get around our new retirement area of Arizona later this year. We really like the Subaru design and the road feel of the all-wheel drive. The new car will have a bit more horsepower (165) as it has a 2.5 liter engine compared to the 2.2 liter in our present car. Other than that the Outback has a bit more clearance which will come to good use during the occasional snow falls in Cottonwood during the winter months. Its not really a SUV, but it gets excellent marks in Consumers Report magazine. What else is money for? :^)

Not much of a football fan, but will watching some of the major bowl games later on today. Best to you all. Mel
