You should worry a lot less about profit and a lot more about cash and the money they generated. Profit is subject to the tax man, hence any hypergrowth company will minimize it when possible (they need their funds for other things).

You don't have to be a bean counter, just use a little common sense (remember how much of the SI crowd adds liquidity to the markets).
