Tyson may become wrestling ref

NEW YORK, Dec. 31 (UPI) - Mike Tyson may be making a comeback. The
New York Daily News reports that Iron Mike is working on a deal with the
World Wrestling Federation that would place him in the ring as a
referee.
The former heavyweight champion was barred from boxing after he bit
part of Evander Holyfield's ear off during a bout this summer.
According to the newspaper, promoter Don King is talking with
Wrestlemania XIV officials on Tyson's behalf.
However, it quotes the legal adviser for the Nevada State Athletic
Commission - the organization that threw Tyson out of the sport - as
saying officials would take a dim view of his proposed move to
wrestling, which would ''circumvent the spirit and intention of the
commission.''
The ex-boxer was supposed to referee a wrestling match in 1990, but
the WWF un-invited him after he lost the championship to Buster Douglas.
The Daily News says Tyson has also been invited to join WWF as a
wrestler but turned down the offer.
The WWF is familiar with ear attackers. More than four decades ago,
Killer Kowalski chomped on Yukon Eric's ear during a match.
