I agree, the ending was excellent. Not a completely happy ending, but life goes on. And actually, the cat is still on the list of possible perps.

I agree with your list of fave series though I would include Justified and The Wire on it. I just this morning came across an article--I forget where--that ranked all these series and concluded that Deadwood was the very, very, very best one. I remember seeing an episode or two when it first ran--about the same time as The Sopranos--and not getting into it, but I bookmarked it on my Amazon Prime and am going to give it another shot.
