SORRY Trump – Rick Perry WON’T be challenging Ted Cruz! Published August 30, 2016 3:30 pm by SooperMexican
I got a big ol’ frownie face for Trump supporters who were so vindictive and angry that Ted Cruz wouldn’t bow his knee to their Orange Emperor. They were really hoping that Trump toady Rick Perry would challenge Cruz for his U.S. Senate seat, but it looks like that ain’t happening. Even cheeto-face was trying to get the two Texans to assault each other in the primary, but that hope fared as well as he is in the polls.
From the Texas Tribune:
Perry, however, is far more excited about his future in dancing than speculation he might challenge U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in the 2018 GOP Senate primary.
It all started when Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump praised Perry in Austin last week as a potential primary challenger to Cruz.
“In the political world, my experience has been almost exclusively as an executive,” Perry said. “Agriculture commissioner …lieutenant governor … which you have your foot in both the executive branch and the legislative branch. And then governor for 14 years.”
“That’s my strength, that is what I enjoy doing, that is not the talents required for the United States Senate,” he said. “My preference of what’s next for Rick Perry is not to be in the United States Senate.”
Many political observers in the state predict that “executive” role for Perry would be as U.S. secretary of veterans affairs, should Trump win the presidency in the November.
Awwww sorry Trumpers!! I guess you’ll have to drop your revenge fantasy in service to your cult-like worship of the populist con man. Maybe Perry saw how Trump ally Paul Nehlen was absolutely obliterated in his quixotic attempt to unseat Paul Ryan. And really, hasn’t he embarrassed himself enough by calling Trump a “cancer” and then endorsing him later? LOL!

Governor Rick Perry supported his Lt. Governor, David Dewhurst, in the 2012 Texas Senate primary election. Dewhurst lost the election to Ted Cruz. Rick Perry may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he is skilled in politics. He knows he would never stand a chance against Ted Cruz. Especially in a one on one debate. I still watch the Cruz-Dewhurst debate every once in a while. It gives me great satisfaction watching a constitutional conservative wipe the floor with a GOPe good ol' boy. |
