"Why expansion slots?"

IMHO (observation, not opinion this time), Compaq has a lot of sales to lose w/o expansion slots. Where? College students! More and more colleges are wiring the dorms with Ethernet (ours is one) for students, and they are currently faced with the poor choice of taking out the modem or buying a new box. From what I have seen (admittedly secondhand, since I'm not in the IS dept here), the students are taking the Compaq box back to where they bought it and getting another (different manu., most likely) which has a Brand-X CPU.
