Over the past decade I've got to know some small airports. For some 3 years our usual point of departure was Little Rock. LIT is aging, but still nice, and it's being updated. Later, it was mostly Shreveport and Monroe La. Those two were real charmers. But yes, if something is wrong with the flight, it could be problematic. Memphis has got to be one of the nicest large airports. I find myself several times a year at the NYC airports, mostly LGA. Always overcrowded and unpleasant, with frequent delays and problems. Forget about parking your car in any of those places. Once in a long while, we fly into Islip - that's nice, but in the middle of a crowded nowhere called Long Island... :)
