ALL: Y2K stocks that will benefit from mutual fund purchases?
My current Y2k portfolio includes TPRO, ACLY, PTUS (my dog), CHRZ, and KEA. As I prepare to invest more in my Y2k portfolio I'm wondering about what IMHO seems a VERY important question: What will mutual fund managers be buying if and when they want to start moving into the sector more heavily?
I personally like TPRO and ACLY a lot, but TPRO's market cap is $108,000,000 and ACLY's market cap is $181,000,000. CHRZ, on the other hand, has a cap of $2.1 billion and KEA has a cap of 2.7 billion.
My question then, is who in the mutual fund industry (but a micro cap fund manager) will buy such a small company? If one wants to position oneself to take advantage of institutional buying, what stocks look hot? Much as I'd like to plow more money into ACLY and TPRO, I'm wondering if the bigger cap stocks in the sector will benefit more from institutional buying.
Can anyone name any mutual funds that own TPRO or ACLY? It would be comforting to know who's including two of my favorite stocks in their portfolios?
Finally, aside from CHRZ and KEA, what other (relatively) large cap y2k stocks are out there that you all believe have merit?
I appreciate your thinking!
Best to all for a wonderful and prosperous 1998!
