James, Thanks for the reminder that CVUS has the rights - cost free - to the NYC PMSA until 2006. My take: this pre-auction "null period" exists because the big comapnies are not about to generate interest and will continue to downplay the whole thing... not because they are uninterested... quite the contrary. They don't want to drive up the bidding. Why should they increase the interest and speculation (competition) when, if they just lay low, the auction will proceed and they can either win markets out right for a low bid or buy out the winners for the lowest price. This is like a takeover... don't let it be known or the stock in the target company will shoot up making the takeover much more expensive or just plain unaffordable. There are a lot of little companies who will be bidding right along with the big guys in FEB. Given the start up costs, perhaps they would rather sell out to a telcom for a nice profit and walk away with a short term profit and avoid the headaches of really running a business. CVUS gives these potential winners the choice of actually getting into the business through their teaming strategy (we know how to do this and we will help you get started) and sharing of suppliers (buy in quanity with us and others on the team and get unit cost break and technical know how).

I believe we will see the big guys either throw in low bids on the hope of winning targeted market areas outright or buy up the winner if the price is right and it fits their plan. Either way, the major telcoms can not pass up this opportunity to get the bandwidth and wireless, last mile capability. If Bill Gates is right in his predictions for 1998, we will see a greater use of teleconferencing, a capability (product) already being discussed for LMDS.

We are in a good position, the tax selling is behind us and the auctions are on the nose. I think this will be a good year for CVUS.

Happy new year!
