Hi Bill, I don't dispute the work you cite. Why I'm interested is that the genetic/epigenetic/neurological processes and structures underlying and influencing degree of intelligence are not well described. The research is still in its infancy.
I'll do some serious reading and let you know what I find.
I hadn't thought about it in the context of race very much, as I've thought for years that race is the phony token that distracts folk from what's really a social class problem and swindle.
I still think that even though there are racial differences in distribution of IQ. I went to school with some folk who were, quite frankly, not very intelligent, but spoke standard English, had work ethic, and fifty years later I can say most have come out okay - raised families, had jobs, businesses, bought properties. I mean, how smart do you have to be to have a decent job?
What's got me thinking about this is the article you posted by Jackson, "A White Teacher Speaks Out". What he describes agrees with everything I've read and heard from Thomas Sowell and also agrees with evolutionary influences seen on earlier onset, (an epigenetic phenomena), of puberty in children of single mother families. I read Jackson's description of social behavior in his class and I thought, "Damn! These kids could be smarter. They've been made stupid!" And I cursed LBJ and all his friends to hell.
