Pancho, If i understand u correctly,then I have to disagree with u (philosophically and/or practically). If we are not wizzards,and we go short/long,then we can also lose like bandits.If we go short as an hedge for the longs,this means we donot trust our long picks.so this means we cannot trust our short picks either. My point is-each position has to be viewed independently.trusted, and watched with hawk's eye. The hedge should be via puts/calls etc (something which i have no experience with) Comments please Sammy
