"Here in North America, which is a target for hurricanes arising in the Atlantic, they ARE down since 2005 "

The Atlantic is also a target for hurricanes arising in the Atlantic ( "it's a fish"). The thing of it is, a hurricane doesn't have to make landfall "here in North America" to be a hurricane, altho sometime the name gets changed to cyclone or typhoon to confuse deniers. It also doesn't have to make landfall in the US to make landfall in North America. Mexico has been battered by Eastern Pacific hurricanes.

Here's an Atlantic hurricane that just hit the Azores, after a long strange trip.
