Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride

Donald Trump (Mr. Toad) has indeed been sowing his political wild oats over the past year. Just today the Donald took issue Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski, doing what Trump best… Twitter rants. Maybe it’s just me (I doubt that) but why does the Republican candidate for President of the United States continually take to social media to voice his displeasure with people in the media; or just about anyone Mr. Trump feels has insulted him? Keeping your ego in check is a quality that many of the great Presidents were able to accomplish. In essence, putting your ego in your back pocket. Donald Trump does not possess that quality.
And now we once again have Donald Trump at odds with the RNC and it’s chairman Reince Priebus. If you’re surprised by this newest revelation in Camp Trump, well you must have been living under a rock.
The Republican National Committee had high hopes that Donald J. Trump would deliver a compassionate and measured speech about immigration on Wednesday, and prepared to lavish praise on the candidate on the party’s Twitter account.
So when Mr. Trump instead offered a fiery denunciation of migrant criminals and suggested deporting Hillary Clinton, Reince Priebus, the party chairman, signaled that aides should scrap the plan, and the committee made no statement at all.
The evening tore a painful new wound in Mr. Trump’s relationship with the Republican National Committee, imperiling his most important remaining political alliance.
Mr. Priebus said in a statement that there was no significant friction between his committee and the Trump campaign, describing theirs as a “fantastic working relationship.”
“Any insinuation to the contrary is purely overblown gossip,” Mr. Priebus said.
“The RNC needs to take control of this situation and quickly,” wrote Stephen Miller, Mr. Trump’s senior policy adviser, who often travels with the candidate.
Trump had his chance and blew it when he took the Veteran’s Purple Heart Medal and questioned the legitimacy of the Gold Star Mother. It showed us a deep character flaw that he has not been able to rectify. Many of us who were disposed to vote Republican cannot stomach such low & coarse behavior from one who aspires to sit in the Oval Office. The Clinton PR team has capitalized on these Trump faux pas with brilliant commercials showing average Americans looking on with consternation & disgust at these remarks. What does this say about his behavior as President? And why could not the GOP electorate give us a candidate that we could proudly vote for, instead of trying to rationalize our vote as being against Clinton, not for Trump.
...........
Mr Trump is a genius at punking the media in to a pre-scripted tizzy that follows the same general pattern of the tizzy before it.
The media covers it like covering one hurricane or big snow storm after another. We can see these successive controversies forming out in the Atlantic Ocean of the news coverage. They should have those computer model spaghetti lines to help track them all.
He is not unlike a kid that calls 911 for the thrill of knowing that the SWAT team must roll out and be deployed. The power to command attention. For whatever. It is the punking itself that matters not whatever issue is being used as the current excuse.
It’s what twitter is all about. Every day the ante must be raised to keep the game going. And it is the ratings and the money that make it all go around.
Caution: Diabolical Man at Work.
