All excellent and insightful comments... I don't think there's ever a time when one could say, "This time it's different."

Think of the guy falling out of a window from the 40th floor... he's falling and passes each lower floor... as he approaches the ground and passes the third and then second floor level he says to himself, "Well, so far, so good, maybe this time it's different."
