“You might take a look at that word ‘Americanism,’ ” says the renowned linguist"

The renowned linguist might take a look at those people encouraging Putin to hack the USA.

First, it is important to recognize that the "renowned linguist" is also a "renowned left wing nutjob." So, you may want to keep that in mind.

Second, no one encouraged Putin to hack the USA. Putin had already done it, time and time and time again. This was merely a form of inoculation on the parts of the Democrats who recognize proof of the hacking is likely to emerge.

Finally, the term "Americanism" could be any country's -ism. We all have attributes which define us as a nation -- the scope of our freedom (or lack of it); our disposition toward economic wealth; our national intellect and commitments; our military; our institutions. All of that stuff and much more. I've never heard anyone say it but you certainly could define Mexicanism or Canadianism in similar ways.

Americanism has been, historically, special. Because it was well-designed and implemented freedom. Unfortunately, we have lost our way and while the jury is out, it is questionable whether we can return to former selves. Trump is trying, though.
