I ran across this on the Intel thread....Think a "memory shortage" may be helping KLIC?

I just got off the phone with a direct distributor of computer components. I was looking to upgrade my 75 MHZ Pentuim to a 120 MHZ.
The first thing he asked me was did I want to upgrade my memory. I asked why and his response was that during the last two days a unit which sold for $79 is now $135. I told him I already bought memory two weeks ago. Thank god I did! Morgan Stanley said earlier this week they saw prices at $10.50/MB. And then today, they see it at 13.25/MB. After my conversation I did the math and it was at $16.88/MB. This could be real good news. I don't believe this is a coincidence. If you don't believe me check with your local memory reseller. Enjoy the ride folks!

I have a DEC starion 500i computer. I want to upgrade the processor. Anyone out there know what my limit is as far as performance without having to change the System Bios or Voltage regulator? Or is this a necessary evil?
