Way to acknowledge that we aren't having higher high temperatures in the US. You guys are always coming up with claims (that you don't really believe) that the heat is hiding somewhere .. in the arctic, in the deep ocean, in the dark nighttime. Why it would hide and not come out in the open you never explain.
--------------| | IN 1999, climate monitoring agencies agreed the US hadn't been warming for the past century. Al Gore, who'd chosen environmentalism to sell himself to progressives, was supposed to be elected in 2000. When he wasn't, the climate alarmists he'd promoted during his Senate and VP career decided to start changing the historic record to scare the US public. How do you change history? You hire someone, Matthew Menne, to develop an algorithm (which has never been peer reviewed by statisticians) to continually adjust past temperatures.

NASA’s top climatologist said that the US had been cooling

Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought.
in the U.S. there has been little temperature change in the past 50 years, the time of rapidly increasing greenhouse gases — in fact, there was a slight cooling throughout much of the country

NOAA and CRU also reported no warming in the US during the century prior to 1989.

Last week, scientists from the United States Commerce Department’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that a study of temperature readings for the contiguous 48 states over the last century showed there had been no significant change in average temperature over that period. Dr. (Phil) Jones said in a telephone interview today that his own results for the 48 states agreed with those findings.

The Menne method ends up producing significant changes in past temperatures that you can see with the naked eye. I submit there's something wrong with a process that produces these changes over the course of a decade:

If you're doing something in 2001 or 2007 or 2009 that dramatically changes the temperature records for 1934 or 1979 or 1998, you're doing something patently indefensible, in my opinion. |
