Fuchi, the way I see things, we're is the midst of a generational change. Within the next year the Cayenne and K6 will crank >300MHz with advanced 3D modeling. The 100MHz S7 bus will become real and chipsets will cache unlimited memory. USB and Firewire will take hold. Windows 98 will have 3.x users upgrading in droves.

We fight today over a few points in the Winstone benchmarks when the next-generation CPUs will provide VAST improvements. Meanwhile >40% of all PC sales are in the sub-$1,000 category as hi-end users delay their purcahses. And CYRX/NSM has the most cost-effective solution for this, the fastest-growing PC market segment.

I own an IBM HD and shares in QNTM. I remain long on CPQ but build my own PCs. I hold MSFT shares while I compose this message using Navigator And, I am very long in CYRX/NSM with a PII on my desk. The reason is that I, like you (and most on this thread) am not representative of the typical PC user. I am simply buying what I need today while investing for the future.
