I entirely agree with you on all points. Fortunately, I don't see the posts of those who have violent mental illness and much lower intellect, much less respond to them.
Typically, when good folks like you, who are very intelligent and capable of critically-thinking, respond to them with fact-based, logical discourse, they became angry and hurt, and they run to their political sympathizers crying for a ban until it ultimately happens, usually sooner rather than later. It is best to avoid those who have innate violent tendencies, mental illness, and much lower intellect, whether in public or in cyberspace. Otherwise, it's rather like attempting to reason with an imbecile. It won't work and it's a completely futile exercise.
Fortunately, SI has improved the ignore tool so that one never has to see the posts of stalkers, those who hate us, or those who could be easily mistaken for angry 4-year olds with room-temperature IQs.
Regarding the dimwitted imbecile whom you responded to, I have no doubt that he and his mentally-challenged cohorts know that if America were divided into two nations, consisting of conservatives in one and leftists in the other, the conservative nation would immediately be recognized as vastly superior to the United States as it exists today, and astronomically superior to the newly-formed leftist nation. Imagine the chaos, anarchy, and lawless pandemonium that would immediately exist in the leftist nation.
