Mitral valve stenosis leads to coughing spells and fainting, and often needs the chronic use of a blood thinner(Coumadin) due to incidence of blood clots. Surgery can be done as condition worsens. The possibilities are numerous, but pneumonia is one of them without a doubt. Yet, one needs a good history and physical(H&P) above all. I bet she has the finest docs up there, they don't need Loco or you to solve the puzzle.
