Meathead and All, Re: Refining the CompUSA comparisons with DELL The comparisons need to have similar warranty plans. I have made the comparisons more accurate by making sure the options are the same where the choice is given and by making the warranty policy the same from the options lists. I configured a Pentium II 300 MHZ Minitower with 64MB SDRAM 4.3GB EIDE HD Low cost 17 " monitor 4MB nVidia AGP card 14/32 EIDE CD-ROM MS Office AWE64 Sound card Altec Lansing ACS90 speakers Us Robotics 56K Modem 3 year on-site next day warranty service The DELL price was $2,487. The CompUSA price was 2884.65 The percentage difference is 16% advantage to DELL. I guess you get what you pay for if you are careful! Regards, Jim Kelley
