Sep 13, 2016 09:25:00 (ET) 9:25 ET - Struggling data center operator Internap (INAP) checks a couple boxes, tapping former RCN cable chief Peter Aquino as CEO and naming tech adviser Peter Rogers as its new independent director. With a market value north of $100M, INAP has lagged data center peers that have enjoyed years of growth in sales and valuations. Industry consolidation would make its 50 data centers attractive takeout targets on paper, yet the company's had no takers. INAP repeats that it's still open to good offers but "is not engaged at this time in discussions with any party and is not actively pursuing transaction alternatives to organic growth." That means Aquino will have his work cut out for him convincing prospective cloud-computing clients to take a second look.
