i just got back from pa.. had a wonderful if not quick break from the tedium of life in NY. believe it or not, you were on my mind when i looked out at the half frozen lake.. and thought of ice fishing.. something i have never done.. and although i couldn't place your face{cause we have never met.. i thought of the name.. and the big sto list, and cracked a smile.. i also though of lee, when i talked with a guy about the locals.. and of many of my friends here that could have been with us at the local bar up there.. quite, peaceful, friendly... listening to a hick version of billy joel's piano man, sung along with an acoustic guitar.. met a teacher.. thought of caroline.. life is completely different outside of the urban universe that i live in.. i should try and remember that throughout this year, and if i can, for the rest of my life.. :turning the water on, {outside the house} was a different experience..i am used to everything quick and spontaneous, the darkness in the woods there was darkness unlike we have here in ny.. there is always a faint glow of someone else's lights on, even when you are trying to sleep.. ah well... good to be back..but maybe the same time next year i will be emailing you or posting from up there.... taxi
