I bot the iPhone 5c a couple years ago when my "needs" justified all that capability. That's no longer true by a factor of 10! So I carry around a lot of unused power. Fortunately, with Consumer Cellular, I only pay about $20 per month and never get close to all the usage they give me.
If you think you might be able to get some use from a smart phone, check Consumer Cellular for an older model. They have many choices at decent prices and easy pay plans. Their monthly rates are hard to beat.
