i have had my share of difficulty with datek.. i don't think that they do anything against the rules.. i believe that there is a six month lead time for ipo's to be shortable, and probably for safety sake marginability is questionable also.. again.. i BELIEVE.. that doesn't make this fact.. just what my market experience has shown.. and i know waterhouse allows $4{or 1/8} stocks to be margined because a broker told me that waterhouse lets people margin for $4.. {and that he would too} i declined to use that broker.. as i don't think he will be a fiduciary agent for too long.. {he has no idea about what my experience or level of risk tolerance is, he just wanted a new client} happy new year, taxi
