The hosts of "Money Bowl '98" on CNBC this afternoon tried to bring up Y2000 stocks for discussion with a panel that, for the most part, had no specific knowledge of the subject. An elderly gentlemen (name escapes me) thought that prices of Y2k equities have already fully appreciated ..... He said that he thought the "problem was overstated".... A female panelist thought that Europe was already 80% Y2k compliant because of the new technology being introduced for the Euro dollar conversion. But she also stated that the Asian countries had not yet started to get their Y2k acts in order. She suggested that this would cause major financial problems.... (ala Yardeni?) No specific Y2k stocks were mentioned.
