Bill, Re -- I suspect they would not like a modem... Yes. Typically the NetPC is "designed" as a replacement for the secretary's desktop and the terminals. In a sense an NC with some local storage, and as such is intended for corporations with a Network. Modems do not fit in general enterprise. Re -- A consumer box would have a modem and no ether link card. Yes and No. Today's cable modems require an ethernet connection. However cable modems are not generally available. The requirements of a consumer PC and settop box are completly different from an NC, a desktop, workstation. In addition to modems and network devices, there are other considerations. Stockman
