Eric,
After reading your post I went to the icons on task bar and right clicked and option to remove from task bar appeared. I clicked and they disappeared (Edge and Store). No need for third party software. Seems no two versions of win 10 are exactly the same in the way they affect your computer. So far all my upgrades and updates have been faultless so I guess I am just lucky.
Only thing I have noticed since the anniversary update is notification sometimes reports McAfee anti-virus and Firewall are turned off but McAfee says they are on.
Always find your posts interesting and they spur me to be a little more exploratory regarding my PC.
