The disconnect between Democrats and other Americans is stark: while 51% of Democrats have some trust in the media, only 30% of independents and only 14% of Republicans do. Indeed, the telling statistic is that trust in the media among independents has dropped since 1997 from 53% to 30%, and the trend lines are such that by the next election, fewer than one in four independents will trust the media.
From personal experience and through mounds of reading and studying politics, I long ago came to the conclusion that liberal/progressive/democrats are lazy, uninformed, uninterested, and indifferent to what is around them. They are also completely incapable of developing an independent thought. They cling to impressions that were seated in their brains at an early age, and are uninterested in who or what others think or feel. Like a child that grows up in a racist home and is told that Blacks, Hispanics, and minorities in general are inferior and untrustworthy...........thus growing up to be good little racists............people who call themselves democrats are born into homes where they are told to never trust a republican, never listen to a republican and above all never vote for a republican. They are so dependent on others, they blindly follow instructions, and have zero interest in what is going on around them.
IOW they are narrow minded bigots.
I consider what democrats like HC, Alan Grayson, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Debbie Wasserman Shultz and most other foul mouthed and insulting democrats say about those who disagree politically with them to be outright hate speech. For some reason spokesmen and politicians on the conservative side of the isle never defend themselves (and us) from these hurtful and damaging words. IMO the easiest way to counter their smears is to call them out for what they are...............hate mongers. Until that happens, democrats will continue to have the upper hand when it comes to defining their opponents.
The above statistics tell me that
1. democrats in general have always been behind the curve when it comes to realization or awareness of others and what is happening around them. lOW most of them don't have an astute or curious bone in their body. I think you could also surmise that of those 51% of democrats who trust in the media, there is a pretty hefty smattering of like minded individuals who sanction and support the liberal media's obfuscation and lies because they are fellow travelers.
And 2. If the number of independents that trust in media has slipped 23 points since '97, the conservative message is getting out, people are listening and agreeing that there is something going on, and that is very encouraging.
Maybe there is a sea change, and people are turned off by the politics of personal destruction? (IRS anyone?) It doesn't hurt that Barack Obama and his administration have made a complete mess of everything they touch. Maybe there still is some patriotic blood flowing in the veins of the American people? Or maybe the internet is bringing about an evolution of awareness that was missing without it? I do think people are starting to realize that if they remain uniformed and blindly accept what is being spoon fed to all of us by corrupt politicians and a complicit media.............they'll one day wake up and find they blew their only chance to save a great nation. |
