I hope you are right about Apple's Rhapsody's capability, and wish I have your optimistic thoughts about its market share. However, what I have seen in DoD area are full of Sun server 2000, 1000, Ultra, Sparc 20, as well as HP-UX's. If Apple could receive like 200m worth of Army's order from Sun a couple of years ago, then I will be convinced, not to mention about other agencies in DoD. Of course, I would encourage Oracle starts to port their software to Rhapsody, and urge Apple to strongly sell its Rhapsody into DoD and other Federal Government agencies like Oracle did 5-6 years ago. If price/performance and porting are better than the existing ones, then they would buy it.
However, I doubt Apple can manufacture a mainframe-like machine as you mentioned in your post, which even can compare to Sun Sparc 2000 is still skeptical.
Happy new year to everybody.
