hello c2,

we just enjoyed a productive as well as relaxing long weekend.

the occasion was the mid-autumn moon festival en.wikipedia.org

i worked my usual 4:00am start, but stopped at 10:00am as opposed to 2:00pm, and took the kids out to the wilds of hong kong, and then dined on pizza and such for movie nights (harry potter discs, and yes, i crash early at 8:00pm per usual).

the island (population perhaps 40 fishing / farming families) is 40 min from the pier in our neighbourhood, features trails and stone age scribblings and rural restaurants serving hearty meals. we got there at noon, walked for perhaps 90 minutes, ate leisurely lunch of steamed fish, deep fried squid, stir fried scallops, etc and i downed a rare beer, and left at 3:00pm, arriving home to shower, and did pizza movie night starting 6:00pm, to bed by 8:30pm after reading ellery queen for 10 minutes - love such days

here is jack, being good

here he is again, showing inkling of what he would soon enough be up to

... and then he does the inevitable for kids near water

even as the kids learn stuff
